Salted Caramel Latte

Say hello to your new-favorite latte. Creamy, dreamy, and just plain good.

Have you ever experienced the transition phase that occurs after the beauty of fall, but before the actual snow? It’s the dreary, colorless weather that relentlessly insists on showing up. I’m hoping for fluffy snowflakes soon so something different happens with the weather already, LOL. So before you all start pulling out your favorite cold-weather lattes, I have another one for your list! This salted caramel latte features a homemade caramel sauce, quality expresso, mounds of foam, whipped cream, and *deep breath* more caramel sauce. It’s delectable, delightful, and all the other romantic words that begin with d. If you make this holiday worthy drink, leave me a comment down below to let me know how it turned out! Homemade Salted Caramel Latte

This latte features mesmerizing salted caramel, espresso, mounds of foam, and whipped cream. Creamy, dreamy, and delicious.
Servings 1 heaping cup caramel sauce

Ingredients

Caramel:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar packed
  • Good pinch of salt
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream

Latte:

  • 2 shots espresso
  • 2 Tbsp caramel sauce
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup
  • Frothed milk to fill mug
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  • On medium low heat, mix together butter, brown sugar, and salt until smooth and combined.
  • Add heavy cream and increase to medium heat. Once caramel starts simmering and bubbling consistently, reduce heat to medium low and continue simmering for 4 min, stirring occasionally. Remove caramel from heat and pour into a jar, if desired.

Latte:

  • Stir 2 Tbsp caramel and 1 tsp honey into 2 shots fresh espresso until dissolved. Fill mug with hot, frothed milk (the amount will vary with different mugs) and top with whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel, and sip away!

Notes

Store the caramel in the refrigerator. Microwave OR heat in a saucepan over medium low heat until pourable.
